Electronic waste and IT equipment staged for secure e-waste disposal and recycling

E-Waste Disposal & Secure Data Destruction

Responsible electronic waste recycling with certified, auditable data destruction.

Electronic waste is one of the fastest-growing waste streams in Australia, and for businesses it carries two risks at once: environmental liability if it ends up in landfill, and data exposure if storage devices are not properly destroyed. AAS coordinates e-waste disposal for organisations that need both problems solved with a single, documented process.

We arrange secure collection of surplus and end-of-life electronics, route every item to a licensed e-waste recycler or destruction facility, and return certificates of destruction and recycling reports you can file for audit, privacy and ESG purposes. Whether you are decommissioning a single office or running a national IT refresh, you deal with one contact and receive one consolidated set of records.

Compliant e-waste recycling and data security

Several Australian states, including Victoria and South Australia, ban e-waste from landfill, and businesses carry obligations under the Privacy Act to protect personal information held on retired devices. A recycling receipt alone does not prove data was destroyed.

AAS coordinates e-waste through licensed recyclers and destruction partners, with serialised asset lists where required, chain-of-custody documentation from pickup to processing, and certificates of destruction for data-bearing media. Materials are separated so that recoverable metals, plastics and glass are recycled rather than landfilled.

Frequently asked questions

How do businesses dispose of e-waste in Australia?

Businesses should send e-waste to a licensed recycler rather than general waste, as landfill disposal of e-waste is banned in several states. AAS arranges collection, routes items to an appropriate licensed facility and provides documentation confirming recycling or destruction.

Do you provide certificates of destruction for hard drives?

Yes. For data-bearing devices such as hard drives, SSDs and phones we coordinate physical destruction or shredding and supply a certificate of destruction, with serial-number level reporting available on request.

Can you collect e-waste from multiple sites?

Yes. We coordinate collections across multiple sites and states through our national partner network, with consolidated reporting and invoicing for the whole program.

What happens to e-waste after it is collected?

Items are sorted, data-bearing components are destroyed, and remaining materials such as metals, plastics and circuit boards are recovered by licensed recyclers. You receive documentation of the outcome.
